It’s hard to believe it has already been over two weeks since the Canadian Lymphedema Conference in Toronto concluded. We were happy to participate in the conference; it was a chance to meet up with old friends and make some new ones. This was a special lymphedema conference as it brought together leaders of provincial lymphedema associations for a rare face-to-face meeting. There was also an advocacy workshop to educate us in how to be better patient advocates and a poster contest where we could use a visual format to share research results and case histories. The winners of the poster contest, and a reviews of the conference, will appear in the upcoming issue of Pathways magazine, the lymphedema magazine of the Canadian Lymphedema Framework and the provincial Canadian Lymphedema Associations. For links to the associations, and to a subscription form for Pathways, visit http://www.canadalymph.ca/pathways.
As a joint CLF/LAO conference this was also the 17th annual Lymphedema Association of Ontario’s conference. The LAO conference has grown over the years from a small event put on by dedicated volunteers to a major event in the lymphedema community in Canada.
We look forward to next year’s conference, and we definitely enjoyed this years. Thanks to all of the organizers, sponsors and volunteers who made this a great conference.
